Cinema With Passion

Asian Media Access's successful Hong Kong film series continues, beginning the year with an additional ­ and promising ­ new location. In order to expand the options available to Hong Kong cinema buffs AMA welcomes additional screenings at the Maplewood Plaza Theatre. The screenings there promise new audiences for this successful series. Friday night screenings at continue at the beautiful and historic Riverview Theater in south Minneapolis, while Saturday morning and midnight shows continue at Oak Street Cinema.

While Hong Kong film does not seem to be the hip trend it once was, and as the HK industry undergoes some seismic changes, the Cinema with Passion series strives to bring the latest HK releases as well as reintroduce favorites to new audiences. Satisfying audience demand for their favorite genres and favorite stars, Asian Media Access juggles favorites with newer, less familiar work in its efforts to showcase the entirety of this one-of-a-kind national cinema, to present talents that would otherwise go unscreened.
